Breakdowns, Storylines and Predictions for the 2019 NBA Finals

We’ve made it to the NBA Finals. I thought this year was much more interesting without Lebron dominating the East. Even though Lebron is one of the best players of all time, it’s refreshing to see new storylines and legacies being built. These playoffs have been an all time performance by Kawhi Leonard, and it will be interesting to see if Toronto’s role players can step up. They’ll have to if the Raptors are going to have any chance to pull off the upset. If Kevin Durant is out, it will ultimately make it more difficult for Golden State, even if they’ve gone on a tear without him, Here are all of my predictions for the series.

Biggest X Factor for Toronto: Pascal Siakam

Siakam is the most improved player this year, but he’s going to have to finish strong for Toronto to pull this off. He’s going against Draymond Green, one of the most tenacious defenders in the league. It won’t be easy for Siakam. He’ll need to connect on his open shots to keep the Raptors in it.

Biggest X Factor for Golden State: Andre Iguodala

The Finals MVP from 2015 doesn’t need to play great for the Warriors to win. If he locks up Kawhi, it’s over for Toronto.

Finals MVP: Steph Curry

Steph has been the best player on Golden State since 2013. He was won 2 MVP awards, one being the only unanimous MVP of all time. He has shattered every single 3 point record, and he led his team to an all time record 73 win season in 2016. The only thing Steph doesn’t have is a Finals MVP. With Kevin Durant’s status in doubt, it’s time Steph wins his MVP.

Series Prediction: Warriors in 6

It’s been a great run for Toronto, but I’m not picking against the Warriors.
