It’s up to GM David Griffin on whether or not the Pelicans will abide by Anthony Davis’ trade request. No matter what the Pelicans do, this is the best day in their team history. This gives them a chance to make up for all of their mistakes during the Anthony Davis era.

It’s more likely than not that the Pelicans will still move on from Anthony Davis and build their team around Zion. Many teams such as the Knicks, Celtics, and Lakers will be desperate to add Davis. Here are the best and most realistic trade offers from each team.

New York Knicks offer 3rd pick, Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina, Pelicans offer Anthony Davis.

The Knicks could hold on to this pick, draft R.J Barrett, and then sign Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in free agency. The alternative would be bringing Davis and signing one of the two stars. New Orleans gets to add another top 3 talent and Kevin Knox, a guy who was the 9th pick one year ago.

Boston Celtics offer 14th pick, 20th pick, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, Pelicans offer Anthony Davis.

This might be the only way the Celtics can convince Kyrie Irving not to leave. Bringing in a consensus top 10 player would give Kyrie the help he needs. One year ago people thought Jayson Tatum would be the next Kobe Bryant, and he fits perfectly with Zion’s timeline.

Los Angeles Lakers offer 4th pick, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Pelicans offer Anthony Davis.

The Lakers are extremely desperate to pair a star with Lebron. Jumping into the top 4 was extremely lucky, and it gives the Lakers the ammo needed to finally get a trade for Davis done. The Pelicans can draft one of Zion’s Duke teammates, while grabbing three young players with potential.

No matter which of these offers the Pelicans choose, they will get at least one young star and good draft picks. There isn’t much reason to keep Davis, especially with the possibility he walks in a year and you get no value back for one of the best players in the NBA.

Jrue Holiday is one of the most underrated players in the league, but he’s making $26M for the next five seasons. If the Pelicans decide they want someone younger, and less expensive, they would have no problem finding a suitor for Holiday.
