Maybe Gronk will come back, and maybe is truly done. Either way, Gronk was one of the best players and personalities from the league over the last decade.

Gronk revolutionized the way tight end was played. Not only was he a top five offensive weapon in his prime, he was the best blocking tight end in the league. Without Gronk, the Pats would not be a remarkable two part dynasty.

Gronk seemed hobbled most of the 2018 season, but he turned it up towards the end of the year and played great in the Pats playoff run. Gronk’s catch in the 4th quarter of Super Bowl LIII set up the winning touchdown one play later, and stands as a signature moment in Brady-to-Gronk history.

In a league filled with polarizing and controversial players, Gronkowski was always one of the most liked guys in the league. This dirty hit on Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White was awful, and it is the only blemish on a great career.

Despite being extremely injury prone, Gronk was extremely consistent on the field. He ends his career with 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns as well as 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns in the playoffs. While his career lacked the longevity of a guy like Tony Gonzalez, Gronk captured the hearts of football fans everywhere and made the most out of his opportunity. Once a 2nd round draft pick out of Arizona, Gronk will be ready to join the Pro Football Hall of Fame in five seasons.
